Night time soccer games

Patrick had 2 night soccer games and they went late but I think they won both of them. It was cool to see the Moon rising as they played.

Little visitors

Every morning as I'm doing chores in the kitchen, I hear this beautiful chirping and I have discovered we have a Cardinal that likes our woodsy area outside our kitchen windows. Jesús and I have agreed that another reason that we like Texas is because of all the wildlife we see. Even in our own yard.

Fire Station field trip

Elena's preschool class got to go the fire station on a field trip and it was a lot of fun for them and it was interesting to see how they live. We brought food and snacks for them since they have to pay for all of their own groceries.

They all got to go through a firetruck and here is Elena with one of the firemen.

In the dining room they had this big black wall with dates and locations written all over it, they said that they were all the big fires that they had fought.

They had 3 refrigerators, one for each team

Then they got to watch one of the firemen put all his gear on and he told them not to be afraid of firemen when they are in all their gear.

The kids had a lot of fun and the moms had a lot of fun looking at all the firemen;)

Soccer Practice

While we watch Patrick practice soccer, Elena gets kind of bored so I let her play on my phone. So we got some silly pictures in.

St. Patricks Day and Goodbye Bradshaws

So the same night that my family left, we had decided to throw a St. Patricks mustache party and a little farewell to the Bradshaw family. Can I tell you how fun it is to buy mustache stuff??!!! I love it!!!

I made these fun chocolate mustache chocolate suckers and they turned out really yummy and especially cute on Jack

 Hanging out in the kitchen

Sweet little Allie hoarding all the sodas from the kids

I had mustaches for all the straws

And Jesús and I found these rubber ones that go on the end of bottles. I love them!!

Here are the Bradshaws that are moving to Arizona. Kimberly and I became good friends and I am really going to miss her.

They're here part II

The next morning we went to the JFK memorial where Bens Orchestra was playing for the anniversary of the assassination of JFK. I thought it was awesome. We got there a little late so we couldn't watch from the front but we got seats right by Ben so we could watch him play. The music was beautiful and they played recordings of a speech from JFK. I'm glad we went.

 My cool boys

I'm so proud of Ben and his love for music.

Afterwards we did a little shopping at the Stonebriar mall and we enjoyed some lunch

.
The next night was Bens concert and it was so awesome!!! Here is the set up before they all got in.

Here we are in all our glory after the concert and Sara and I before it all got started. After they Orchestra and Choir finished Glenn Beck walked down the isle with a group of people. It was awesome to see him there.

The next morning we all met at an Ihop by Mom and Dads hotel and we had a yummy breakfast then went to their hotel for some last minute swimming in their heated pool.

It felt good to sunbathe after a Texas winter

After that everyone flew home. I'm so sad they are gone. I hope they come back soon.

They're Here!!!!

My family is here!! Ben and Janae have a concert in Addison which is pretty close to us so Sara is staying with us at our house and Mom and Dad, and Ben and Janae are at hotels. We are missing Cory Stephanie and their sweet kids but I will take what I can get. Hopefully they are our next visitors.

The first thing we did was take Mom and Sara to La Madeleine for some yummy tomato soup and homemade bread and jam.

Dad bought Patrick a steam engine that they could put together. He did the same with Caleb and it was a big hit. I loved watching them work together.

I even got a video of them working together and whenever I'm missing my dad (which is quite often) I like to watch it.

Sara had some quality time with Elena under the blanket

Here is Patrick with the finished Steam Engine. He loves it!!!

We had a picnic at the park and played on the swings and went for walk on the nature path right by the playground. I'm not sure why Sara felt she needed to dance but hey! When in Dallas!

Then we drove to Fort Worth for some good ribs and long horn bulls. Sara and Elena had to test out the horn span.

Patrick got a to be a longhorn

 Then he rode the cannon

 A true 10-gallon hat!!

All you can eat Risky's Ribs!! Our favorite!

Ben did a pretty good job, maybe we will have a competition next time they are here.
