A few random things

Can I just say how much I love breakfast at my table from Grandma and Grandpa in our kitchen. I don't know why, maybe because we all fit so comfortably and its in our very own space.

I found out that Randy and Anita Clement were going to be in town and I mentioned they were going to be very far from us so we they invited us to a golfing range. It was awesome and so fun seeing them and getting caught up with them and their family.

One nice thing about our house is that its so close to Patricks school that now I can just walk up the street and pick him up when the weather will allow it. It is so fun to talk about what Patrick learned and walk with friends in the neighborhood.

The leaves have been dropping like crazy! Elena likes using the push broom to clean the driveway. I'm glad for the help to keep it clean. Of course until the wind blows.

When we moved in we decided to wait to set up Elena's bed in her room because it is Patricks old bed and I wanted to paint it first. Of course Elena's room turned into a giant play room. I just close the door and ignore it until I get the bed painted.

The new house week

So we started moving this week and there were good times and bad.
The washing machine fell apart and had to buy a new one. And while cleaning the apartment the vacuum broke.

However we got everything moved in and we love it

Our huge oak tree is changing colors and its beautiful in the morning as the sun hits it. But look at those leaves. So many.......sigh.

It was also Thanksgiving and I got to bake for the first time in my new kitchen with my brand new oven. I don't think I've ever had a new oven. Its wonderful. I make mini pumpkin spice cupcakes with salted carmel frosting. They were so good.

I finally got to hang my Grandma and Grandpas mirror. I'm so happy to finally have it where we all can see it. This mirror hung in the entry way of my Grandparents house. Imagine how many times they looked in it to straighten a jacket or tie or for Grandma to make sure her lipstick was just right. This is one of my favorite keepsakes.

And here is the kitchen all set up and mostly unpacked. I think its wonderful.

Fun Weekend. Well at least for me.

I heard that my favorite bloggers were going to be in Dallas for a book signing and I wanted desperately to go. I found out my friend Jazmine was going so we decided to go together. I'm so glad I went, it was so cool to meet them!

Here they are at a distance while we waited in line and the long line that wrapped around the neighborhood.

They were so nice and I brought a ceramic animal that Sherry signed for me and John signed my book. I told that the day before was my birthday and that I got a house for my birthday. It was awesome.

The book signing was held at a West Elm store and they had such cute Christmas decorations. They looked easy to make too. I had to take pictures to get ideas.

While I was at the book signing, Jesús was at the new house waiting for the delivery guys with the refrigerator and setting up our new entertainment unit. Unfortunately I had the car and Elena ended up throwing up all over the carpet. I felt bad but I'm glad I was able to go.

We had brought sleeping bags because the house is crazy cold and we didn't have the gas turned on yet.

 Poor sick girl

We had already brought kichen stuff over so I was unpacking the kitchen while Jesús put together the rest of the furniture.

Come on down folks

 Guess who's here?!!!!!

Thats right! The Colas! They are finally here and we are so lucky to get them for a few days before they have to move into their house. The kids have had so much fun playing with them.

We had fun going to Central Market and having dinner together.

We went and checked out the new house and check out her new backyard. Its huge!!

 We helped her with unpacking

And her mattress got a little messed up so we had to sew it back together
