Lunch time

I have been spending my lunch time on Fridays with this sweet boy. Since I spend Monday Wednesday and Friday with Elena at preschool for 45 minutes I thought it would be nice to spend some lunch time with Patrick each week. I really look forward to our conversations together while we eat lunch. I love that time we have together.

Cowboy day at Preschool

Elena had Cowboy day at her preschool and she loved being able to wear her cowboy boots. They had so much fun "roasting marshmallows" around the "fire" and singing cowboy songs. I think she is adorable.

On the house front....and back and sides

So when we bought our house it didn't come with screens on the windows and I love an open window so I have opened up our windows anyway to let the breeze in. Well when the breeze came in so did the bugs. So I was looking online to see how much it cost to have your windows fitted for new screens. I figured we would just save up and get in done next year. Well as I was walking through Lowes looking for something I found a whole screen making section so we went for it. It took a few tries to get all the measuring down but once we figured it out it only took about 3 evenings to finish them all.

We had to measure the frames and cut them to the right size.

 Then assemble the frames

Then we had to put the screen into the frame

Then we just cut the excess off and put it in the window. Easy peasy.

Birthday on wheels

Patrick got invited to his very first rollerskating birthday party. Well he was sooooo excited to go skate! He didn't realize that it was going to be so hard even though I told him over and over again. He was determined. Finally when we had to go he didn't want to go because he hadn't learned yet. Poor kid fell down so many times his elbow was all swollen and red from hitting the ground so many times.

I promised we could go back and keep practicing.

New Uniform and other things

Patricks team got their jerseys!! They are neon yellow! Very easy to see. There was a mix up and they sent an adult size too so I get to wear one to games.

Elena needed a picture in her uniform too. I love my soccer players.

I was doing some laundry the other day and I found Elena like this in the family room. She does some crazy stuff to entertain herself while I get chores done. I'm sure going to miss her next year when she's in school all week.

In honor of Grandpa Gene's birthday I made sure to some of the stuff he loves. I made pancakes in his apron that I inherited and then Elena and I took the car to the carwash. For dinner we went Wendy's which is right by our house. I'm not sure if thats a good thing or not but it helped me think of Grandpa and what a wonderful man he was and how much I miss him.

Meet Beaky

So Patrick got a turtle!! My friend Inga was looking for a home for this turtle.

I asked Patrick if he wanted to have a turtle to take care of and he said yes so I brought home Myrtle Beaky. Turns out the turtle is a boy so we changed his name. Why the name Beaky you ask?

Look at that face!! He looks like a parrot!

Bend it like the Morenos

Its been a busy soccer season and we are all over the place with games and practices. The don't love every minute of it but I know that they need extra curricular activities to keep them active. I wish I had wanted to do some kind of sport. Both of them can play pretty well but only when they are putting in the effort, and when they do it makes for an awesome game. Elena is number 6 and Patrick is number 7. Patricks team is waiting on new uniforms and he wasn't on their team last year so they gave him a jersey that is the same color but he's been wearing his old shorts. Maybe its nice so we can find him easier on the field.

This kid is 7!!!!!

So Patrick wanted a Balloon avalanche too but he woke up too early and I could hear him moving around while I taped up the plastic. Then he had to find a flashlight and shine it under the door to see if I was out there. I told him to go back to bed. That kid is an early riser.

He got to open up Grandma Connie's presents too in the morning.

He loved the Hobbit Legos and then he said that he remembered that when he was a baby I took pictures of him in a box so he wanted to try it again. It was actually a little blue basket which we don't have anymore but hey, when you need to get in a box, do it.

He wanted big waffles with whipped cream for breakfast. Can you tell he enjoyed it?

I seriously adore this kid. He likes taking pictures for special moments with Elena.

We decided to have a small party for him with just a few friends but I think they had a blast. We bought a bunch of nerf guns and bullets and they played live action Call of Duty with Jesús and Randy. Us girls hung out in our room and chatted and made bracelets.
For Patricks cupcakes I tried to go with a camo look but they were kind of nasty. Not my best work.

Happy Birthday to this big 7 year old. I love him. Love. Him.

Say Hello to baby Layla

Aunt Raquel and Uncle Jon had a baby! Patrick and Elena were very excited to meet their new cousin. I was also a little anxious to hold her and snuggle her.

I think she looks a little bit like Elena. Adorable.
