A First Haircut

Yes, Patrick had his first haircut. I decided he was looking a little shabby around the ears and I ask the fabulous Katy Nichols to cut his hair and she did a fabulous job and now he is the cutest little boy. Patrick didnt like the whole process but in my warped world, I think he likes his new locks. Here are few pictures of the drama.

All over the place!!

Ok, I dont know if its because he's one now but Patrick is now crazy. He has learned to climb, and so he is all over the place. It can only get worse from here. He is sort of walking now. He can go pretty far but he is kind of a chicken and has not decided to become a member of the walking community yet. He had his one year check up a few weeks ago and I was told that he is too skinny. He is in the 3rd percentile for weight and has been slowly declining since he was born. So he has finally started to drink whole milk, I was worried about that because he didnt like formula and he loves juice and the doctor said he shouldnt have juice anymore. I was like "WHAT??" this is going make my life crazier than ever!!! But he has finally learned to love milk and I think he is bulking up a little bit. I was also told that he is slightly anemic so now I have him eating every iron enriched food you can imagine. So I think in the health aspect we are doing ok but I am going to have to fatten this kid up.Patrick likes climbing into our chairs, he just doesnt know how to get out of them.

I came around the corner the other day and Patrick had managed to
climb up onto the coffee table.

Patrick loves to make a mess in the kitchen with all the lids. It sucks to
clean it up all the time.

An afFAIR to remember

Well its hard to deny the best corn dogs, tacos, and cinnamon rolls you will ever have. So, yes we made our way to the Kern County Fair. Patrick was only two weeks old last year when the fair came around so we weren't able to go. So we packed up last minute and bundled up for the the new chilly air and the thousands things you need for a toddler. But we had an excellent time. Patrick has a little fear of the bigger animals at the racing of strange animals, Patrick got really scared and cried. But after we calmed him down, he was fine. He had a great time looking at the animals like the elephants, the rabbits, the baby chicks, the cows, the sheep (those scared him too) the goats and the ducks.Patrick needed Daddy to hold him around the sheep. And the elephants were sooo cool!!!

We relaxed in the hammock chairs for a little while.

Patricks Birthday Party

Well since Patricks birthday was on a Wednesday, it was a little difficult to plan anything during the week. So we planned his party for Friday night. Yes I know, why throw a party for a 1 year old that will never remember it? Well it was partly for Patrick and partly for me. I guess I just needed to something that would crack the reality into me that I have a toddler now instead of an infant. Plus, he is my first child and he will never turn one again. It was really last minute and he had alot of people that were not able to come but there was still a good turn out and Patrick had a great time. I took alot of pictures and some didnt turn out because he was very tired by the end and didnt really want to smile but you'll get the idea.

Patrick got a lot of great gifts, he's gonna be the best dressed
kid in Bakersfield.

Patrick did take a moment from opening his presents to
pose with his mom.

He also got this great Winnie the Poo riding thingy
and as you can see he is so excited about it.

After riding it for a few minutes and falling off once
and getting back on he started to enjoy it.

His cousin Caleb also wanted a turn a little before Patrick was done
and as you can see he wasn't very happy about it.

Caleb decided to push Patrick around instead. He pushed really fast
and it made me a little nervous but Patrick seemed to enjoy it.

Eventually Caleb just kind of took over, I'm glad he enjoyed it.

Patrick loves Mickey Mouse and it was shame he had to tear into
such a lovely cake.

As you can see he got a little messy and his dad ended up giving him
a big blob of yellow frosting that just ended up all over his legs, so he got a bath during his own birthday party. Very classy. We had a great turn out and a great time. He cant wait until Lucy Nichols birthday party. He told me so.

He brings so much joy to our lives, I cant imagine life without him. I cant wait to see how he will blossom. I love him so much. I will show you some pictures of how he has changed over this year.
